STS082-753-002 (11-21 Feb. 1997) --- The Space Shuttle Discovery's crowded crew cabin and busy cargo bay (partially visible through window in background) represent a variety of activities simultaneously performed by individual members of the crew of astronauts. Astronaut Kenneth D. Bowersox (left foreground), STS-82 commander, uses a 70mm handheld camera to record imagery of an Earth observations target of opportunity, as astronaut Steven A. Hawley (center), mission specialist, controls the Remote Manipulator System (RMS) arm to support the work of the Extravehicular Activity (EVA) team servicing the Hubble Space Telescope (HST). HST is temporarily captured in Discovery's payload bay. Astronaut Mark C. Lee, payload commander, is the EVA astronaut visible though the Shuttle's aft flight deck window at frame center.
