
S81-35998 (10 Aug. 1981) --- The orbiter Columbia creeps toward the vehicle assembly building (VAB) during its tow-over from the orbiter processing facility before dawn today. Columbia was backed out of its hangar at 3:54 a.m. and rolled into the cavernous VAB about 25 minutes later. The reusable spacecraft made her maiden flight in April 1981. Photo credit: NASA
