NASA engineers from the Kennedy Space Center and area high school students have teamed up to be in 'first.' First is 'For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology', an organization made up of government and corporate sponsors that hosts student engineering competitions across the globe. This March, the University of Central Florida arena hosted over 40 teams in a robotic free-for-all, but the reason for the event wasn't lost on the NASA participants. KSC Center Director, James Kennedy: 'Please know that part of our job, our life at NASA is to inspire the next generation of explorers, and you are that next generation, you are at the right age to be the first people to step foot on Mars about 30 years from now.'
