The six astronauts who will fly Space Shuttle Atlantis recently completed a full launch dress rehearsal, known as the terminal countdown demonstration test. The prelaunch training ran the STS-117 mission astronauts through their paces as they practiced emergency evacuation procedures at the launch pad, checked out their flight gear, drove M-113 personnel carriers and attended safety and range briefings. The STS-117 mission is No. 21 to the International Space Station. Mission payloads aboard Atlantis include the S3_S4 integrated truss structure, a third set of solar arrays and batteries. The astronauts will install the truss to continue assembly of the station.
