I'm Scott Koester and this is the Space Shuttle Minute. Your sixty-second NASA space shuttle update. A new launch date is set for space shuttle Atlantis_ At Launch Pad 39A, at NASA's Kennedy Space Center, crews are working to complete modifications to Atlantis' engine cutoff sensor system that postponed two launch attempts in December. Liftoff is targeted for February 7th. Atlantis' mission, STS-122, will install and activate the European Space Agency's Columbus laboratory. Columbus will provide scientists around the world the ability to conduct experiments. Meanwhile, the STS-122 crew members are at Johnson Space Center in Houston continuing training to ready themselves for their mission to the space station. I'm Scott Koester and that's your Space Shuttle Minute.
