Following a meeting with the Artemis II Mission Management Team, NASA held a briefing to discuss progress of the mission so far. Participants included Lakiesha Hawkins, acting deputy associate administrator for NASA's Exploration Systems, Howard Hu, Orion Program manager, and Judd Frieling, flight director, for the briefing on April 3, 2026, at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. The briefing discussed the successful completion of the five minute fifty second translunar injection burn that set NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and CSA (Canadian Space Agency) astronaut Jeremy Hansen out of Earth’s orbit and began the outbound trajectory toward the Moon.
