Following a meeting with the Artemis II Mission Management Team, NASA held a briefing to discuss progress of the mission so far. Participants included Dr. Lori Glaze, deputy associate administrator for NASA's Exploration Systems Development Mission Directorate, Howard Hu, Orion Program manager, and Judd Frieling, flight director, for the briefing on April 2, 2026, at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. The briefing discussed the successful completion of the approximately six-minute translunar injection burn that set NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and CSA (Canadian Space Agency) astronaut Jeremy Hansen out of Earth’s orbit and began the outbound trajectory toward the Moon.
