jsc2026e034365 (April 28, 2026) --- The Laplace investigation studies two phenomena: the evolution and growth of dust aggregates in proto-planetary disks and the fundamental aspects of gas and particle transport phenomena in dust clouds. This image displays the interior of the Laplace vacuum chamber with the particle trap exposed. Laplace allows particles to move independent of their size and charge at uniform speed through the field of view of the microscope. Investigation results can provide researchers with detailed information on how planets and solar systems form. Credit: IGEP/TU Braunschweig.
