jsc2026e034361 (April 28, 2026) --- Air sample kit and canisters are seen that collect ambient and alveolar samples for analysis of the carbon monoxide content as part of SPARK. This investigation aims to study how the spleen changes and how red blood cells break down in space to better understand the biological mechanisms of space-related anemia. Investigation findings may lead to ways to better protect crew health during long-duration space missions. Credit: Canadian Space Agency.
