On Monday, Aug. 4, Second Lady Usha Vance hosted her summer reading challenge event at NASA’s Johnson Space Center. She was joined by NASA astronaut Suni Williams to read a space-themed book to children in grades K-8 as part of her initiative to promote literacy. Through her reading challenge, the Second Lady is encouraging youth to seek adventure, imagination, and discovery between the pages of a book. Students interested in participating in the challenge must read 12 books by Friday, Sept. 5. Additional details, including where to download a reading log, and how to submit it to the White House, are available at https://www.whitehouse.gov/read/
