NASA participated in a news conference from the Johnson Space Center in Houston April 3 to announce the companies selected to move forward in the development of the Lunar Terrain Vehicle under the LTVS (Lunar Terrain Vehicle Services) contract. The award leverages NASA’s expertise in developing and operating rovers to build commercial capabilities that support scientific discovery and long-term human exploration on the Moon. NASA intends to begin using the LTV for crewed operations during Artemis V. Participants in the news conference include: • Vanessa Wyche, director of NASA Johnson • Jacob Bleacher, chief exploration scientist at NASA headquarters; • Lara Kearney, manager of the Extravehicular Activity and Human Surface Mobility Program at NASA Johnson • Steve Altemus, chief executive officer and co-founder, Intuitive Machines • Justin Cyrus, chief executive officer and founder, Lunar Outpost • Jaret Matthews, chief executive officer and founder, Venturi Astrolab Credit: NASA
