On NASA's Day of Remembrance, Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023, the agency honored members of the NASA family who lost their lives while furthering the cause of exploration and discovery, including the crews of Apollo 1 and space shuttles Challenger and Columbia. NASA Johnson held a commemoration at the Astronaut Memorial Grove. The ceremony included remarks by NASA Deputy Administrator Pam Melroy and Johnson Center Director Vanessa Wyche as well as a NASA T-38 flyover and taps performed by the Texas A&M Squadron 17.
