
The ESA service module primary structure, which will propel Orion on the Artemis III flight carrying astronauts to land on the surface of the Moon, is ready to ship from Thales Alenia Space in Turin, Italy to Airbus in Bremen, Germany. Annamaria Piras, Thales Alenia Space Orion Program Manager, saying goodbye to the Artemis III service module structure as the lid lowers on the transportation container on Oct 2, 2020. Next stop, Airbus in Bremen, Germany. Airbus will perform final assembly on the service module ahead of shipment to Kennedy Space Center where it will be integrated with the rest of the Orion spacecraft.
