The Human Physiology, Performance, Protection and Operations laboratory complex provides focused EVA-relevant assessments to optimize Human Health Performance. Specific areas of capability include assessment of suited injury, metabolic rates, thermal control, bioinformatics, physical and cognitive performance, human-in-the-loop testing, and environmental physiology, which includes mitigation of decompression sickness risk. Human performance is critical for EVA during the planning, training and execution of EVAs, and in their development and testing for Exploration.
