The crew of the International Space Station opened hatches and welcomed NASA astronaut Chris Williams and Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergey Kud-Sverchkov and Sergei Mikaev, beginning their eight-month mission on the orbital outpost. Williams, Kud-Sverchkov, and Mikaev launched on the Soyuz MS-28 spacecraft atop a Soyuz 2.1a rocket from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on Nov. 27. Following a two-orbit rendezvous, the trio docked to the Rassvet module of the International Space Station.
