NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman and deputy associate administrator Joel Montalbano discussed the return of NASA’s SpaceX Crew-11 mission to the International Space Station and answered questions from media following the crew’s splashdown off the coast of San Diego, California on Jan. 15. Crew-11 consisted of NASA astronauts Zena Cardman and Mike Fincke, as well as JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) astronaut Kimiya Yui and Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Platonov. The quartet were conducting a long-duration mission living and working aboard the microgravity laboratory to advance scientific knowledge and demonstrate new technologies for future human and robotic exploration flights as part of NASA’s Moon and Mars exploration approach, including lunar missions through NASA’s Artemis program.
