NASA astronauts Zena Cardman and Mike Fincke, as well as JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) astronaut Kimiya Yui and Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Platonov undocked from the zenith port of the International Space Station’s Harmony module on Jan. 14 ahead of their return to Earth for a parachute-assisted splashdown off the coast of California Jan. 15. Crew-11 was completing a long-duration mission living and working aboard the microgravity laboratory to advance scientific knowledge and demonstrate new technologies for future human and robotic exploration flights as part of NASA’s Moon and Mars exploration approach, including lunar missions through NASA’s Artemis program.
