Crew-10 Provides Farewell Remarks Change Of Command Ceremony Takes Place – Tuesday, August 5, 2025

Aboard the International Space Station, Crew-10 which includes NASA astronauts Anne McClain and Nichole Ayers as well as JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) astronaut Takuya Onishi and Roscosmos cosmonaut Kirill Peskov provided farewell remarks on Aug. 5 ahead of their upcoming departure from the space station. Joining Crew-10 for the farewell remarks were NASA astronauts Zena Cardman and Mike Fincke, JAXA astronaut Kimiya Yui, and Roscosmos cosmonauts Oleg Platonov, Sergey Ryzhikov and Alexey Zubritsky. Following the farewell remarks a change of command ceremony took place where Onishi handed over command of the space station to Ryzhikov. Crew-10 is slated to undock on Aug. 6 and splash down off the coast of California Aug. 6 after completing a long-duration science mission living and working aboard the microgravity laboratory to advance scientific knowledge and demonstrate new technologies for future human and robotic exploration missions. Such research benefits people on Earth and lays the groundwork for future human exploration through the agency’s Artemis missions, which will send astronauts to the Moon to prepare for future expeditions to Mars.
