Aboard the International Space Station, Expedition 73 flight engineer Jonny Kim of NASA and current space station commander Takuya Onishi of JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) discussed life and work aboard the orbital outpost during an in-flight education event June 27 with students at the Douglas Space and Science Foundation, Inc. in Layton, Utah. Onishi and Kim are in the midst of a long-duration mission living and working aboard the microgravity laboratory to advance scientific knowledge and demonstrate new technologies for future human and robotic exploration flights as part of NASA’s Moon and Mars exploration approach, including lunar missions through NASA’s Artemis program.
