Aboard the International Space Station, Expedition 73 commander Takuya Onishi of JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) astronaut and NASA flight engineer Nichole Ayers discussed life and work aboard the orbital outpost during an in-flight education interview May 5 with students attending the Mansfield ISD STEM Academies in Mansfield, Texas. Onishi and Ayers are in the midst of long-duration missions living and working aboard the microgravity laboratory to advance scientific knowledge and demonstrate new technologies for future human and robotic exploration flights as part of NASA’s Moon and Mars exploration approach, including lunar missions through NASA’s Artemis program.
