
iss071e487310 (Aug. 13, 2024) --- NASA astronaut and Expedition 71 Flight Engineer Matthew Dominick mixes and prepares small bags of simulated lunar cement for a 24-hour incubation period inside a thermos can. Afterward, the samples were stowed for several more weeks of hardening at ambient temperatures on the International Space Station. The space-created cement samples will be returned to Earth for scientists to analyze their microstructure and mechanical strength.
