SPACE STATION COMMANDER DISCUSSES LIFE IN SPACE WITH THE PRESIDENT OF ITALY Aboard the International Space Station, Expedition 61 Commander Luca Parmitano of the European Space Agency, discussed life and work on the orbital laboratory during an in-flight call Nov. 6 with Italian President Sergio Mattarella. Parmitano, who is Italian, assumed command of the station in early October and will remain in orbit during his long-duration mission until next February.
