Expedition 60 Crew Transfers Command of the International Space Station to Expedition 61 Description: The reins of the International Space Station were passed from Russian cosmonaut Alexey Ovchinin of Roscosmos to Luca Parmitano of ESA (European Space Agency) during a ceremony on the orbital outpost on October 2. Ovchinin is returning to Earth October 3 with Expedition 60 crewmate Nick Hague of NASA and Spaceflight Participant Hazzaa Ali Almansoori of the United Arab Emirates in the Soyuz MS-12 spacecraft for a landing on the steppe of Kazakhstan. Ovchinin and Hague will have completed 202 days on the orbital complex, while Almansoori will have spent eight days in orbit under a contract between the United Arab Emirates and Roscosmos. Parmitano remains on the station as commander of Expedition 61 with NASA astronauts Christina Koch, Drew Morgan and Jessica Meir and cosmonauts Oleg Skripochka and Alexander Skvortsov of Roscosmos.
