Earth observation
ISS040-E-124821 (5 Sept. 2014) --- One of the Expedition 40 crew members aboard the International Space Station, flying at an altitude of 221 nautical miles, recorded this image of ongoing wildfires located generally in the San Francisco area of California, near the Sierra Nevada range, on Sept. 5, 2014. He used a 135mm focal length to capture the image.
