Earth observation

ISS040-E-093914 (14 Aug. 2014) --- One of the Expedition 40 crew members aboard the International Space Station, flying at an altitude of 219 nautical miles, recorded this oblique panorama of much of the eastern seaboard from the northern tip of New York's Long Island (loer right) southward into the Carolinas. Some of the Great Lakes would be visible in the background were it not for heavy cloud cover.
