Volkov makes final preparations for his departure during Joint Operations
ISS017-E-021990 (23 Oct. 2008) --- Cosmonaut Sergei Volkov, Expedition 17 commander, makes final preparations for his departure in the Soyuz TMA-12 docked with the International Space Station. The Soyuz undocked at 7:16 p.m. (CDT) on Oct. 23, 2008, carrying Volkov, cosmonaut Yury Lonchakov (out of frame), flight engineer; and American spaceflight participant Richard Garriott (out of frame).
