
ISS008-E-11807 (3 January 2004) --- The Upsala Glacier in Argentina was featured in this image photographed by an Expedition 8 crewmember onboard the International Space Station (ISS). This is the third largest glacier of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field with an estimated area of over 800 square kilometers. This long, north-south oriented river of ice terminates in the northern arm of Lake Argentino. This same area was photographed during the first expedition of the International Space Station just over 3 years ago; reference photo no. ISS001-E-05318 under the Expedition 1 section of the Human Space Flight website.
