The Surya Satellite-1 (SS-1) is the first Indonesian nanosatellite developed by university students at Surya University. SS-1 tests a satellite telecommunication system to serve amateur radio stations, and serves as a proof of concept of sensoric information transfer in rural areas for disaster mitigation application.
