
Nyamulagira volcano, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, showed continuing eruptive activity since July 2024. Three lava flows (NW, W, WSW) included thermal anomalies, displayed as yellow pixels derived from thermal infrared bands. Nyiragongo crater to the southeast had a thermal anomaly in its summit crater, mostly obscured by visible clouds. Grayish ash clouds can be seen streaming NW from the crater. The image was acquired September 18, 2024, covers an area of 27,1 by 230.6 km, and is located at 1.4 degrees south, 29.2 degrees east. https://photojournal.jpl.nasa.gov/catalog/PIA26449
