NASA's twin Voyager spacecraft, launched in 1977, are traveling through interstellar space at around 35,000 mph (56,000 kph). This artist's concept depicts one of the probes speeding away. The Voyager spacecraft were built by NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, which continues to operate both. JPL is a division of Caltech in Pasadena, California. The Voyager missions are a part of the NASA Heliophysics System Observatory, sponsored by the Heliophysics Division of the agency's Science Mission Directorate in Washington.
