This VIS image shows parts of Crommelin and Firsoff Craters. Both craters contain large mounds of layered materials on the crater floor. This material was deposited after the craters formed and may have been created by the same processes. These craters are located near Meridiani Planum. The THEMIS VIS camera contains 5 filters. The data from different filters can be combined in multiple ways to create a false color image. These false color images may reveal subtle variations of the surface not easily identified in a single band image.
