This VIS image shows a small portion of the lava flows that comprise Daedalia Planum. The flows originated at Arsia Mons, the youngest of the three Tharsis volcanoes. The Tharsis volcanoes are aligned in a northeast trending system. The majority of the Daedalia Planum flows can be traced back to the southern flank of Arsia Mons along the extension of the controlling alignment.
