Republic of Maldives
The Republic of Maldives is a country located in the Indian Ocean, southwest of India. It comprises twenty-six atolls, and 1192 coral islands, with an average ground elevation of 1.5 m. Tourism and fishing account for more than half of the country's GDP. Kulhudhuffushi, seen in the upper right corner, is the capital of Haa Dhaalu Atoll administrative division in the north of the Maldives.
