Dunes - False Color
The THEMIS VIS camera contains 5 filters. Data from different filters can be combined in many ways to create a false color image. This image from NASA 2001 Mars Odyssey spacecraft shows sand dunes and sand materials in depressions near the south pole. The dark blue tone shows the location of sand transport from one depression to another.
