Polar Cap Layers
This image captured by NASA 2001 Mars Odyssey spacecraft shows part of the margin of the north polar cap. Layering of the ice is visible in the top half of the image. Small dunes located on the plains surrounding the cap can be seen in the upper left corner of the image.
