The THEMIS VIS camera contains 5 filters. The data from different filters can be combined in multiple ways to create a false color image. These false color images may reveal subtle variations of the surface not easily identified in a single band image. The faint bluish white tone in this image is actually clouds. Images like this help in understanding ongoing atmospheric changes on Mars. Clouds on Mars are created by dust lifted from the surface or ice haze at altitude. This image is located in Noachis Terra.
