Dramatic Dune Destination
Especially bright patches, bluish in enhanced color, are due to seasonal frost that is accumulating as this hemisphere approaches winter. This image of a sand dune field in a Southern highlands crater was acquired by NASA Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter.
