This movie clip (of which the release image is a still frame), created from images taken by NASA's Cassini spacecraft, shows a high-latitude area of Jupiter. At latitudes above 45 degrees, the banded appearance of Jupiter's clouds gives way to a more mottled appearance. The cause of this transition is not fully understood. http://photojournal.jpl.nasa.gov/catalog/PIA02876
