
STS-89 Commander Terrence Wilcutt poses in front of his T-38 jet trainer after landing with other members of the flight crew at KSC’s Shuttle Landing Facility from NASA’s Johnson Space Center to begin Terminal Countdown Demonstration Test (TCDT) activities. The TCDT is held at KSC prior to each Space Shuttle flight to provide crews with the opportunity to participate in simulated countdown activities. Endeavour is targeted for launch of STS-89 on Jan. 22 at 9:48 p.m. EST, which will be the first mission of 1998 and the eighth to dock with Russia’s Mir Space Station.
