Representatives from NASA participate in a media event at the agency’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Monday, April 18 upon the arrival of NASA astronauts Kjell Lindgren, mission commander, Bob Hines, pilot, and Jessica Watkins, mission specialist and ESA (European Space Agency) astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti, also a mission specialist, in advance of NASA’s SpaceX Crew-4 mission to the International Space Station as part of NASA’s Commercial Crew Program. Participants include: Kathryn Lueders, associate administrator, Human Exploration and Operations Mission Directorate, NASA Headquarters; Janet Petro, director, NASA’s Kennedy Space Center; and Barbara Nucera, Houston office team leader, ESA. Launch is currently targeted 5:26 a.m. EDT Saturday, April 23. The SpaceX Dragon spacecraft, named Freedom by the Crew-4 astronauts, will launch on a Falcon 9 rocket from historic Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
