Representatives from NASA, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) participate in a news conference at the agency’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020, following the launch of NASA’s SpaceX Crew-1 mission to the International Space Station as part of NASA’s Commercial Crew Program. Participants include: NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine; Steve Dickson, administrator, FAA; Kathy Lueders, associate administrator, Human Exploration and Operations Mission Directorate, NASA Headquarters; Hiroshi Sasaki, vice president and director general, JAXA’s Human Spaceflight Technology Directorate and Gwynne Shotwell, President and Chief Operating Officer, SpaceX. The SpaceX Crew Dragon, Resilience, carrying Crew Dragon Commander Michael Hopkins, Pilot Victor Glover, and Mission Specialist Shannon Walker, all of NASA, along with Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) Mission Specialist Soichi Noguchi, launched at 7:27 p.m. EST, on a Falcon 9 rocket from Launch Complex 39A at Kennedy.
