NASA astronauts Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken familiarize themselves with SpaceX’s Crew Dragon, the spacecraft that will transport them to the International Space Station as part of NASA’s Commercial Crew Program. Their flight test, Demo-2, short for Demonstration Mission 2, is targeted to launch July 2019. The Crew Dragon will launch on SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket from Launch Complex 39A at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Before they make their journey, the Demo-1 flight test will take place. Scheduled to launch March 2, 2019, Demo-1 is the inaugural flight of SpaceX’s Crew Dragon. It will be uncrewed and is designed to validate end-to-end systems and capabilities, leading to certification to fly a crew.
