
International Space Station: The International Space Station, or ISS, was built by sixteen nations, including the United States, Canada, Russia, Japan, Brazil, and 11 European nations. Each participating country contributed its expertise. This project was based on cooperative agreements on the design, development, operation, and utilization of the space station. The ISS marked its 10th anniversary of continuous human occupation on Nov. 2, 2010.
