CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. - At NASA's Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in Florida, Director Bob Cabana introduces himself to the sixth-grade students attending Brevard Space Week 2009. Space Week events are designed to introduce the students to space exploration activities at Kennedy and include opportunities for the students to hear an astronaut describe spaceflight and to take part in a variety of hands-on activities. Since 2004, over 25,000 sixth-grade students have participated in this innovative program with 5,200 more expected to participate this year. Space Week events are sponsored by NASA Education, the Brevard Schools Foundation, Delaware North Parks and Resorts, and the Florida Chapter of the National Space Club.
