
CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – At the Apollo/Saturn V Center at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, Apollo astronauts (from left) Buzz Aldrin, Walt Cunningham, Edgar Mitchell, Al Worden, Charlie Duke, Vance Brand and Gerald Carr applaud the addition of Apollo astronaut Bruce McCandless on stage for NASA's 40th Anniversary of Apollo Celebration of the July 1969 launch and landing on the moon. McCandless was a member of the astronaut support crew for the Apollo 14 mission and was backup pilot for the first manned Skylab mission.
