
CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – In Orbiter Processing Facility 1 at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, workers place a protective cover over a reinforced-carbon carbon, or RCC, panel removed from space shuttle Atlantis. for SPAR corrosion inspection. The structural edge of the wing will undergo spar corrosion inspection to verify the structural integrity of the wing. The RCC panels will be placed in protective coverings until the inspection is complete.
