EDWARDS, Calif. - ED09-0127-06 (EAFB) -- The crew of space shuttle mission STS-125 gather on the runway at Edwards Air Force Base in California after space shuttle Atlantis landed to conclude the 13-day mission to upgrade the Hubble Space Telescope. Landing opportunities on May 22, May 23 and May 24 were waved off due to weather concerns at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, the shuttle’s primary landing site. Through five spacewalks, NASA's Hubble Space Telescope was refurbished and upgraded with state-of-the-art science instruments that will expand Hubble's capabilities and extend its operational lifespan through at least 2014.
