KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, FLA. -- This fish-eye view shows space shuttle Atlantis just after liftoff from Launch Pad 39A at 2:45 p.m. EST on its climb to the sky on the STS-122 mission. Below Atlantis is the mobile launcher platform with its tail masts. The White Room, which provides access into the shuttle on the pad, is at lower left. At upper left, the lightning mast appears to loom over the shuttle. This is the third launch attempt for Atlantis since December 2007 to carry the European Space Agency's Columbus laboratory to the International Space Station.
