Curbeam take a break from a simulation exercise in the motion-base shuttle mission simulator (seen in the background) at the Johnson Space Center (JSC). Polansky is STS-98 pilot and Curbeam doubles as a mission specialist and flight engineer for the scheduled January 2000 5a mission to the International Space Station (ISS).
