Animation for media and public use. NASA and ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) have teamed up to create a powerful new space mission that will track our changing Earth in fine detail. This reel includes animation of the launch, deployment, and operation of NISAR – the NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar mission. The animation shows: Launch from ISRO’s Satish Dhawan Space Centre aboard a GSLV Mk II rocket First-stage separation and second stage ignition Payload fairing separation Additional stage separations and ignitions Solar array deployment and spacecraft orientation Multi-stage boom arm and radar antenna reflector deployment Radar data collection over California, showing simulated land subsidence data Animation by Koji Kuramura and Michael Stetson Directed by Paul A.
